DAR—General Edward Hand Chapter is the name of the local chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution. The chapter registrar has a copy of the lineage papers of each member. They are also on file from the national headquarters in Washington, DC and a copy is available for a fee.
First Family File Cabinet—Indicates there is a file in the First Families of Franklin County project. This is joint program of Ottawa Library and Franklin County Historical Society and is housed at Ottawa Library.

Franklin County Family Book—The librarians are not sure what this refers to, but would appreciate any insights. In the “Sharp, John T.” entry, it does not appear to be the Franklin County Family File resource.
Franklin County Family File – These are red notebooks containing Doris Elder’s original, hand-written research, located in Ottawa Library.
Franklin County Land Atlas (62)—This is a set of landowner maps. The bound originals are at the office of Franklin County Register of Deeds and copies are at Franklin County Historical Society Archives and Kansas State Historical Society. FCHS Director Deborah Barker states that there are a couple of different versions, one dated 1862 and one a few years later.
Franklin Lodge No. 18 AF & AM—This information is held by the local lodge at Masonic Hall, 422 S Main, Ottawa. The office is staffed by volunteers. The telephone number is 785-242-3147.
