Attend a library program?
    The library events calendar lists upcoming programs. Some require registration at the Circulation Desk. There are also flyers and a bulletin board that list upcoming programs near the Circulation Desk.
Check email?
    You can use our computers to sign up for a free email account through Hotmail or Yahoo. See also Use a computer?
Find a tax form?
    Tax forms can be found in the Reference Dept Jan-Apr. After that, we keep a small amount in file cabinets downstairs.
    Federal and State tax forms are also availabe online. Find links to other state tax forms here.
Find community information?
    There is a community information file at the Reference Desk. There is also a lot of information on our webpage under Community Information as well as a Community Calendar.
Find genealogy information?
    There are many genealogy and local resources in the Reference Dept. The library genealogy page is a great place to start looking online.
Find magazine and newspaper articles?
    Current issues of magazines, and the Ottawa Herald on microfilm are available in the Reference Dept. Back issues are kept at the Circulation Desk. You can access many online databases with magazine and newspaper articles on library computers or from home with Internet access and a Kansas Library Card.
Get a Kansas Library Card?
    With a Kansas Library Card, you can access Audiobooks, Music and More, Homework Kansas, and online databases with magazine and newspaper articles. Just ask at the Circulation Desk and we'll fix you right up. It's quick and painless.
Get an Ottawa Library Card?
    Anyone may obtain a card--it is not necessary to live within the city limits. Children under 14 need a parent signature to obtain their card. The parent must have an Ottawa Library card or present ID with current address. Adults need to bring in an ID that shows their current address. There is no charge for the first card, but if they are lost there is a $1.00 replacement fee.
Get homework help?
    There is a great service available called Homework Kansas. All you need is a Kansas Library Card. Learn more about it by viewing this PowerPoint presentation.
Get ideas for reading?
    Ask a librarian for suggestions, or check out some of  the Booklover's Links on our webpage.
Renew materials?
Items may be renewed once if no one is waiting for them, except for:
· Art prints
· Interlibrary loans and
· DVDs and Videos
To renew items, you may:
· bring them to the library
· call the library at 242-3080 or
· renew through Webcat online

Search for jobs?
    In addition to want add listings in the newspapers in the Reference area, check Kansas Joblink for jobs in Kansas. The City and County use a site called HR Partners. Links to these and other resources can be found on the library careers page.
Type a resume?
    Go to Start Programs and use Microsoft Word on a computer to type a resume. Resumes, Applications, & Cover Letters shows examples of different types of resume formats.
Use a computer?
    There are two public use computers in the Reference area and twelve on the lower level. You need a library card in good standing to use the computers. See the library Internet policy.
